There is definitely some things that I would like to address here about what may come into place in the final installment of the Tales of Arcadia trilogy: Wizards. So, let's get into this subject. These are just my theories on what could happen.

Wizards aren't human, but a race of spiritual beings/eldritch abominations hailing from other planes of existence.

This theory may seem far-fetched, but I definitely believe that this is possible. I don't believe that wizards are human. At all. This is largely because the trilogy revolves around trolls, aliens (sorry, Aja) extraterrestrials, and wizards, which aren't supposed to be human even though they live amongst the public. What could they be? Merlin and Morgana could exit their own bodies and make astral projections of themselves. Morgana is even known as "the Eldritch Queen of the Seventh Plane", which I believe hints at the wizards' true origin. In this theory, wizards are spiritual, lovecraftian horrors who come from different planes of existence. Given Morgana's title, it's highly possible that she was a tyrannical queen who was spiritual in origin, ruling over the Seventh Plane. Which leads to my next theory.

Morgana shouldn't have been sent to the Shadow Realm.

Yes, this one. If wizards are spiritual beings, then this beings us to the Shadow Realm, described as a void between worlds, devoid of light or reason. This realm is chaotic, and who craves chaos? Morgana. Perhaps this is the Seventh Plane that was described by her, and when referring to the Shadow Realm being located "between worlds", could this be referring it being between different universes? Does the multiverse exist in Tales of Arcadia? What could Morgana be doing in the Shadow Realm? Also, we never see Morgana actually die in there, and we don't know what horrors could be lurking in there. I'm getting vibes that trapping Morgana in the Shadow Realm wasn't such a good idea after all...

Merlin's memories were wiped out between Parts 2 and 3 of Trollhunters.

Merlin explicitly stated that he chose Jim to be the next Trollhunter, but eventually, he asked Jim if he was the Trollhunter upon being awoken. What happened to him? Is he really as much of a jerk as we thought he was? Maybe not. Perhaps that when Morgana found out that Merlin gave Jim the courage to keep the Amulet, she wiped out his memories, resulting in him not knowing things that he should.

James Lake Sr. will make the ultimate sacrifice in the series finale.

This theory, I've been waiting to write out. First of all, we never find out the true motivation of why he left his family at Jim's birthday. Toby mentioned that, "Last I heard, he ran off with his girlfriend to be a ski-bum in Vermont", but that's just what he heard. We don't even know if whoever told Toby that told him the truth. Could James have left them to protect them because if he knew that if he stayed, then something evil could happen to them? Also, Guillermo del Toro said we won't know more about Jim Lake Sr. until the final season of Wizards. That really leads to something. When the main antagonist (Morgana, Mordred, or someone else) has the heroes in their last breath, I think it may very well be possible that Jim Lake Sr. will show up and explain why he left his family, before sacrificing his own life to stop the villain for good (similar to King Fialkov and Queen Coranda's sacrifice against General Val Morando). That would be something.
