Hi, I'm Spottedstar from the Kung Fu Panda Wiki. I'm also the original creator of the DreamWorks footer that's featured at the bottom of every DreamWorks-related wiki.
I occasionally check up on the footer to check recent changes made to it and make sure all the links still work, and from that I noticed this wiki's main page was missing the template. I looked at the page's history and saw from this edit that a lot of stuff was removed including the template, I'd guess possibly from redesigning or something.
Are there any plans to add those missing footers back in? If not, just for navigational consistency of the template, I'm requesting the DreamWorks footer at least be added back in. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Okay I see your edit, but it's definitely in the wrong spot. You also copy-pasted the entire code rather than using the shorter template code for it, which will also make sure it stays up-to-date whenever a change is made to it.
Place this code after <mainpage-endcolumn />:
That'll pull it straight from the template page, keep it up to date, and putting it after the endcolumn tag will stretch it evenly across the whole page rather than one column.
I need to ask for your opinion here, because its been bothering me all day.
Does EVERY image HAVE to be full sized? Is it REALLY a crime to just crop an appropriate image? I mean, ItsAsIf is running around throwing away every cropped image. I had to reapply the images because of him. I tried to argue with him, he keeps insisting that images have to be FULL SIZED. I seriously don't see the crime here. This wiki has been offical for like a whole year and nobody complained about the cropped images until now.
I'm not asking you to argue with him, I'm just wondering if it's really wrong to crop images for this wiki, making them more focused and open to see what the pages are really about?
And I get it. I just don't get how cropping is so wrong and unprofessional. I mean, we've all done for months, before and after the wiki became official. But we really do it to show like the actual thing the page is talking about. Like the Gaylen's Core page. It shows a clear image of what the page is talking about, making it more open. You know what I mean?
My sincerest apologies if I am interrupting anything, but I noticed that ItsAsIf made a few changes to the File Policies page which you had established some time ago. In my personal opinion, I feel as if the edits were rather unnecessary/somewhat awkward, and I just wanted to give you a heads up so you could look into the most recent edits and make any necessary changes!
Yes, as well as the deletion of: "Trollhunting.com also is a reliable source, since it is a part of DreamWorks' Asian website. If you find a better quality image, or if there is a clipart for someone who hasn't had any before, please run it by with staff."
But there's this one thing I don't get. Why is ItsAsIf so strict about this "image guideline". I mean, he tried to block (and even depromote) me, harassed you, and even blocked Allkertia, and the three of us together are like the top editors in this wiki. And he's barely even edited a page this year. What's his deal? I mean, I would ask him myself and tell him off, but... you know.
Hello! Just in case you haven't heard, Fandom has launched a new Editor Rewards Program to thank hard-working users for their contributions to the platform. You can check out all of the information in this blog post. Feel free to comment on the blog if you have any feedback, questions, or concerns, and the Editor Experience Team will be happy to answer!
Hi! I'm here to bring you big news from Fandom! The new Analytics feature has just been released for admins, which you can read more about in this blog post. This feature is particularly exciting because it will give you access to insightful statistics that allow you to see what areas are doing well and how to best capitalize on them in order to strengthen the community. You can visit Special:Analytics to access the data, and if you need any help, you can check out the help page for additional information. Please let me know if you have any further questions or feedback and I'll be happy to answer :)
We’ve got great news from Fandom about your community! Dreamworks TV Animation is partnering with Fandom to make Arcadia Oaks-pedia an Official Wiki Community. This means that Dreamworks is officially endorsing the wiki as the best place to find encyclopedic info about the show. We have a lot of official gaming wiki communities, but Arcadia Oaks-pedia is one of the first four Official Wiki Communities for television.
This won’t change anything about how you run your wiki - the community will always be in charge, Dreamworks and Fandom aren’t here to take over. That’s a reflection of the hard work you and other editors have put into the wiki, so congratulations on that!
We’d love to partner with you moving forward. We have some ideas for what we can do next to get this new Official Wiki status on the wiki, but first I wanted to see if you have any questions about what this means for you and your wiki.
I would also like to work on some design changes, as well as update the main page to make the wiki look even better as part of the official wiki status :) Let me know if you're ok with me moving forward with these changes or if you would prefer to see them first on a test wiki.
Here it is! This is the new modern main page layout that Fandom is using for all official wikis. It follows best practices and highlights all of the key content that readers click on the most. I also made a new background so that we can replace the tiled bg situation that's going on right now. Let me know what you think :)
Yay, I'm glad you like it! I'll implement everything here shortly. Unfortunately I cannot be your Wiki Manager if it's not a TV/Movies Wiki but I can certainly help you with a main page and bg if you would like :)
Also - I will be curating the mobile main page for you as well so that we can get the wiki added to the Fandom app!
