Unkar the Unfortunate was a Trollhunter, and a posthumous character of Trollhunters.

History[]

Backstory[]

Unkar was a Trollhunter who was trained by Blinky.

During his second hour of being a Trollhunter he fought Draal for training, but he lost. In his sixth hour of being a Trollhunter, he was fighting a pair of Gumm-Gumms until he fell down some stairs into a hole of spikes. When Bular found him alive, impaled on one of the spikes, he ripped him limb to limb.

He received the title "the Unfortunate" for getting himself killed on his first night as a Trollhunter. Prior to his death, he was hoping to be named "Unkar the Ultimate."

Unkar's quick death greatly affected Blinky's reputation as a trainer.

Trollhunters (Part Two)[]

When Jim was arrested by the Troll Tribunal for Gunmar's release from the Darklands, he wished that he had never found the Amulet of Daylight in the first place. Unkar's spirit appeared before Jim and gave him the chance to relive his life and see what it would have been like if he never became the Trollhunter.

When Jim saw how bad things became because he wasn't the Trollhunter, he decided to do what he could to fix things. Unkar's spirit appeared before Jim and warned him that he would die without the Amulet, but Jim still pressed on. It was at that moment that the spirit of Merlin appeared and told him that the Amulet does not make mistakes when choosing its Trollhunters. Jim returned to the present after accepting the fact that he was the Trollhunter.

Trollhunters (Part Three)[]

During the final battle against Gunmar and Morgana, AAARRRGGHH!!! inserts his hand into the Soothscryer to summon the spirit of all past Trollhunters to aid Merlin against the Pale Lady. Unkar possessed a Gumm-Gumm soldier trying to attack AAARRRGGH!!! and boasted that he was the Unfortunate no more, only for his host to be destroyed while he was distracted.

Physical Description[]

Unkar was a large troll with big horns. He somewhat resembled Kanjigar.

Personality[]

Unkar was very arrogant and overconfident, seen when he named himself 'Unkar the Ultimate' during his very first day as a Trollhunter. These two qualities would later lead to his demise. He was also snarky and sarcastic, and often made wisecracks. He also seemed to like messing around with Jim. However, his failed Trollhunting career was a great source of disappointment for him, and any mention of it would instantly anger him.

Powers & Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Troll Physiology: Unkar had all the standard abilities of a troll, including enhanced strength, speed and durability.
