- “Gnomes are one of those designs that you know is going to work and be appealing right off the bat. We designed them with 'dot eyes,' which differentiated them from the rest of the characters. They suddenly turn into animal-like creatures, which I think is where the fun of them resides.”
- ―The Team at Headless Animation Studios[src]
Gnomes are mischievous creatures that inhabit Trollmarket.
Civilization[]
Gnomes are annoying thieves seen as a plague that are always causing problems. They emigrated along with the Trolls during the creation of Heartstone Trollmarket. They are allowed to live next to trolls only because they eat the parasites off them.
However, gnomes can also be very loyal. They are also naïve and easily impressed, as well as short-tempered. They are extremely hardy creatures and can easily survive in the Darklands if left to their own means. At the same time, they are courageous and proud.
Physical Description[]
Gnome are typically seen as tiny creatures with white hair and beards, razor-sharp teeth, large noses, and black eyes. They wear pointy hats over their heads to hide their horns, gray shirts with buckles, fingerless gloves, and brown boots.
Powers & Abilities[]
Gnomes are smaller, agile and faster than trolls, and also possess a level of durability. Their level of speed makes them almost impossible to catch, sometimes appearing like a brief flash. The horns on their heads are strong enough to pierce through solid rock. They can also bite and chew through objects at great speed, like a drill or a pencil sharpener.
Weaknesses[]
Nothing enrages a gnome more than someone touching their hats, because they have spikes on their heads under their hats.
