Bodus was an unseen character of Trollhunters, but had a more prominent role in the novel The Book of Ga-Huel as the hidden main antagonist.

He was a troll who discovered the only method of killing Gunmar with the Triumbric Stones.

History

Backstory

During the War for the Surface Lands, Bodus and his disciples traveled the world to find a method of wounding Gunmar. He then discovered that Merlin has hidden a secret weapon within his Trollhunters' Amulet of Daylight through the use of three gemstones tied to Gunmar's lifeblood: his birth, his first kill, and the battle where he took control of the Gumm-Gumms called the Triumbric Stones. However, Gunmar learned that Bodus has discovered the whereabouts of the stones.

To keep his discovery of the Triumbric Stones a secret, Gunmar attempted to have him and all of his disciples hunted down and killed in the most unpleasant manner, and ordered Stricklander burn up all written copies of his work as a precaution.

In 70 CE, Boraz the Bold was tasked with protecting Bodus at a Roman Coliseum from attacking Gumm-Gumms. At some point Bodus was apparently struck by a Parlok Spear, thus apparently ending his life.

Unknown to Boraz however, he had not failed to protect Bodus but rather a Polymorf that took his place, allowing Bodus to fake his death and slide away into history unseen, working from the shadows, collaborating with other Polymorfs, biding his time until he could come up with a plan that would put him back into Gunmar's good graces.

Over the years, at least one last copy of Bodus' final testament remained in the possession of Blinky Galadrigal, until he burned it in order to discover the hidden message within its burnt remains.
